Ever since my early childhood I have been in awe of horses whether they were my Grandfathers’ draft horses or my friend’s riding horses. What majestic and proud animals....and some were pretty big I thought as a youngster.

In my early teens along with my sister and brother we were able to acquire our own horses, one of them a beautiful part Arabian mare, well before long we found a purebred Arabian stallion, and we were into raising some foals. Those are distant but happy memories that seem like it was just yesterday.

With this introduction to the Arabian horse, I just felt I needed to know more about this gorgeous breed and read every article I could find, before long I came across the bloodline known as the Straight Egyptian. To learn this was the purest bloodline of the Arabian horse tracing back to the desert was completely new to me, and the type of horse I would like to own someday because of its purity and true beauty.

I have been fortunate to own part bred Arabians, half Arabians, and purebred Arabians who taught me so much how to interact with them, and being friends. After the loss of one of my purebred geldings to colic I felt that my remaining gelding, Alli~Barr needed a stable mate and that horse would be Straight Egyptian.

Well the search was on and I “surfed the Net”, finally I was able to find a weanling colt in Michigan, Shah Jamil (beautiful prince/king), and also a mentor and friend, Elizabeth Dieter of JEVA Farms who has helped and advised me about the Straight Egyptian Arabian.

As we all know, if you have a colt worthy of breeding, you need mares, and superior quality mares are the lifeblood of any serious horse breeder, and I had been told that by so many reputable breeders.

During the last five years I have viewed many hundreds of Straight Egyptian websites, studied pedigrees, and spoke with so many owners and breeders regarding mares that I have yet to meet in person but offered friendly advice and encouragement to reach my goal.

As a professional photographer I have always appreciated beauty in many forms, and was able to visualize in my mind the perfect Straight Egyptian mare, one evening while “surfing the Net” I found her and as they say the rest is history.

We have been very fortunate to acquire mares from Kehilan Arabians, Imperial Egyptian Stud, and Janice Bush, I have great respect for their success and knowledge, and plus the fact so many of their horses carry the blood of great foundation mares and stallions of the desert and horses of Straight Egyptian breeders worldwide.

It is our goal here at Alli~Barr Arabians to carry on these bloodlines and perpetuate this glorious animal that allows us to share in their lives. To breed sound, correct, beautiful, tractable horses is not an easy task but a challenge we accept and look forward to in years to come.

To the many people I have had the opportunity to speak to and correspond with; I do look forward to meeting you in the future and at this point say “Thank You”.

To date only some of our goals have been met, we look forward to a promising future and to “Ride With The Wind”.
